D'Layna
Northern California-based singer-songwriter D’Layna has dedicated the greater half of her life to the music industry, equipped with a profound message of positivity and a universal-spiritual connection. After a long hiatus, she returns with her majestic, soul-drenched vocal prowess, ready to bring back encouragement, inspiration and above all else — love.
D’Layna fell in love with house music in 2000 and has honed her distinguished vocal palette around the genre ever since. Inspired by the classics like Aretha Franklin and Chaka Khan as well as contemporary greats like Jill Scott and Angie Stone, D’Layna’s style is marked by her love for God. Through her music, she hopes to instill feelings of hope, love and positivity, bearing the ethos that humanity should spend more time elevating each other up instead of tearing them down.
D’layna has collaborated with some of the world’s most renowned DJs including Sandy Rivera of Kings of Tomorrow, Davidson Ospina, Jose Burgos, Federico Conti, Nowak, Vincent Kwok, and Julius Papp. Her music has also reached a global audience spanning the UK, Europe, USA and beyond. Notably, D’layna was on tour with MC Hammer as a backup vocalist on the 1992 Too Legit To Quit Tour.
Growing up in Phoenix, Arizona, D’Layna was continuously moved by the soulful tones emanating from her local Baptist Church. After joining the Love Center Choir under the direction of Walter Hawkins and Edwin Hawkins, she fell more and more in love with music by the day, with this connection inevitably blossoming into a full-blown career.
After a break away from music, D’Layna is back with her soon-to-be-released collaboration with Bruno Kauffmann. The single “We’re Gonna Make It” on SoulRise Records, was inspired by this pandemic with a focus on how we as a society will get through this together with faith and prayer. It is scheduled for release on April 30th, 2021.
